Rostock hosts 35th Hanse Sail maritime festival
The 35th Hanse Sail festival in Rostock has concluded, attracting approximately 500,000 visitors over four days. The event featured 120 ships from seven nations and more than 200 artists performing across 20 stages and seven different event locations.
A major highlight was the high demand for traditional sailing experiences, with 15,225 tickets sold for 372 excursions. Beyond the maritime displays, the festival emphasized social inclusion through inclusive sailing competitions where children with and without disabilities participated in match races.
Rostock's Mayor, Eva-Maria Kröger, noted that the event strengthens the city's identity and showcases it as an open-minded host. Organizers have already scheduled the 36th edition of the festival to take place from August 5 to August 8, 2027.
