Rot-Weiss Essen awards professional contracts to youth talents

Rot-Weiss Essen has signed two 17-year-old offensive players, Rami Malaeb and Fadih Vasic, to professional contracts. Both players are set to become permanent members of the professional squad starting July 1, 2027.

Rami Malaeb recently made his professional debut during an away match in Ingolstadt, coming on in the 84th minute under coach Uwe Koschinat. Malaeb joined the club's youth academy from Rot-Weiss Oberhausen in 2024 and has progressed through the U17 and U19 levels.

Fadih Vasic joined the club in 2025 from the FC Schalke 04 youth system. While transitioning to the professional squad, Vasic will continue to play for the U19 team under coach Michael Delura. Marcus Steegmann, RWE Director of Professional Football, highlighted the technical abilities and intelligence of the players as key factors in their development.
