Rotajet and AION Drive New Circular Solutions for Industrial Packaging

Tecpro Australia has been appointed the Australian distributor for Rotajet’s industrial container washing and reconditioning systems. The UK‑made equipment cleans, dries, tests and reconditions IBCs, drums and other reusable containers, helping food manufacturers improve hygiene, reduce waste and lower operating costs. The modular systems can be scaled from single wash stations to fully automated lines, supporting circular‑economy initiatives in the food, beverage, chemical and pharmaceutical sectors.

AION, originally a corporate venture of Aker BioMarine, designs circular solutions that turn waste streams such as discarded fishing nets into new industrial products. The company works with partners across the fishing, maritime and logistics industries, delivering projects like converting seafood‑industry waste into durable pallets and developing processes for McDonald’s to transform used plastic crates into new packaging. Head of Materials and Design Nils Henrik Parborg emphasizes a data‑driven, commercially viable approach to redesigning products for reduced material use and improved logistics.

Both initiatives illustrate growing pressure on manufacturers to adopt sustainable, reusable packaging and to integrate circular‑economy principles into their operations.
