Rotary and Lions clubs hold meetings in Italy

The Rotary Club Vercelli held its second convivial meeting of the 2026/2027 year at the Circolo Ricreativo di Vercelli. The event featured a presentation by Dr. Nicolò Gozzi, a senior researcher at the I.S.I. Foundation in Turin and an affiliate of the Network Science Institute at Northeastern University. Gozzi, whose work focuses on mathematical and computational methods for predicting large-scale infectious disease outbreaks, discussed the complexities of modern interconnected systems. His research involves collaborations with international organizations such as the World Bank, the World Health Organization, and the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control.

Separately, the Lions Club Merate conducted a meeting at the Ristorante Lido di Imbersago focused on the evolving role of service organizations in the third millennium. President Giovanni Romagnano addressed the need for clubs to adapt to modern social challenges and engage younger generations. The meeting included presentations by Dr. Carlo Sironi and Dr. Giorgio Salvioni regarding the strategic importance of clubs within the current social fabric.
