Rotary Club conference in Pescara tackles youth violence

The Rotary Clubs of Pescara, Pescara Nord and L'Aquila organized a conference titled “Project against Youth Violence: field experiences, critical issues and perspectives” at the Aurum venue in Pescara. The meeting, opened by Rotary President Stefano Ilari, stressed the need for a stable network linking institutions, schools and families to address the rising phenomenon of youth aggression.

Speakers included teacher and youth delegate Rossella Tonelli, psychiatrist and professor Massimo Casacchia, cognitive‑behavioural psychotherapist Alessio Gagliardi, and criminal‑law professor Ivan Salvadori, who highlighted legal awareness and online violence. Olga Cipriani, grandmother of Christopher Thomas Luciani – a teenager murdered by peers in Pescara – spoke on behalf of the Crox association, urging stronger guidance, empathy and preventive support for young people.
