Rotary Club of Chilliwack to host annual outdoor book sale

The Rotary Club of Chilliwack will host its annual Outdoor Book Sale on Saturday, August 29, at 44870 Wolfe Rd., located beside the Townsend Park playing fields. The event is scheduled to run from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Organizers expect to display between 40,000 and 50,000 books, including a large selection of children’s books, rare volumes, and various CDs, videos, and records. Pricing includes $1 Harlequin novels, $2 for children’s books and pocketbooks, and $4 for non-fiction and large fiction. Teachers are eligible for a 50 per cent discount on books for classroom use.

Proceeds from the sale will fund community initiatives, ranging from playground equipment and school Christmas dinners to trail upgrades and emergency room improvements at Chilliwack General Hospital. The event is free to attend, and payments can be made via cash, debit, or credit, though cheques and electronic transfers are not accepted.
