Rotary clubs in Italy launch initiatives to fund polio eradication

Rotary and Rotaract clubs in Italy are conducting various fundraising initiatives to support the international ‘End Polio Now’ campaign. In Campania, members of 84 Rotary and 52 Rotaract clubs organized a solidarity walk at Piazza del Plebiscito during the Neapolis Marathon to raise 8,000 euros. Reaching this target is critical, as the Gates Foundation pledges to double the amount raised, potentially providing 24,000 euros to vaccinate 30,000 children.

In L’Aquila, the Rotary Club L’Aquila hosted a musical concert at the Ridotto del Teatro Comunale ‘V. Antonellini’ to support the same cause. The event featured the Wind Orchestra of the ‘Alfredo Casella’ Conservatory, directed by Darrell Brown, and saw participation from local officials and neighboring Rotary clubs.
