Rotary Clubs in Italy launch polio awareness and vaccination campaigns
Rotary Club organizations in Italy are conducting various initiatives to raise awareness and funds for the global fight against poliomyelitis through the Polio Plus and End Polio Now programs.
In Cuneo, an Interclub event involving the Rotary Clubs of Cuneo 1925, Mondovì, and Saluzzo focused on the importance of vaccinations and infectious disease prevention. Experts discussed the challenges of eradicating the virus and the role of scientific information in protecting public health.
In Trapani, the TuliPOLIO initiative, organized by Rotaract, Rotary, and Interact Clubs with support from the Italian Red Cross, is using purple tulips as a symbol of awareness. The purple color represents the mark placed on a child's finger following vaccination. Participants can make voluntary donations at Villa Margherita to receive a tulip bulb, with all proceeds directed toward international polio eradication efforts.
