Rotary Clubs launch polio awareness and fundraising initiatives in Italy

Rotary Clubs in Italy are launching initiatives to raise awareness and funds for polio eradication. In Gioia Tauro, the “Un euro per la polio” project aims to sensitize students to the importance of vaccinations. The initiative includes a fundraising campaign through school piggy banks and a multimedia competition for students, scheduled to run from October 24, 2026, to February 26, 2027.

In Capaccio Paestum, the Rotary Club Paestum Centenario and Rotaract Paestum are organizing a conference titled “Polio: history, science and new challenges – From the fight against the virus to a polio-free future” on October 24, 2026. The event will address the global status of the disease, the importance of vaccine coverage, and clinical dynamics. This local effort aligns with the international PolioPlus program, which has supported eradication campaigns for over four decades.
