Rotary Clubs organize community fundraising events in Paraguay and Uruguay

Rotary Clubs in Paraguay and Uruguay are organizing community fundraising events to support various social causes.

In Encarnación, Paraguay, the Rotary Club Encarnación Norte and Rotaract are preparing the seventh edition of the ‘End Polio Now’ walk. Scheduled for November 15 at the Encarnación Costanera, the event aims to raise funds and awareness for the global fight against polio. Organizers noted that while Rotary International has worked for decades to eradicate the disease, the poliovirus remains endemic in Afghanistan and Pakistan.

In Uruguay, Rotary Artigas and Rotary Sembrador are hosting the 11th edition of a solidarity paella on October 11. The funds raised will assist local families and institutions facing hardships, particularly those affected by recent flooding of the Cuareim River. Specific goals include supporting local community needs and assisting School No. 14 in repairing a playground destroyed by a storm.
