Rotary Youth Exchange facilitates international student immersion
The Rotary Youth Exchange program facilitates international cultural immersion for over 8,000 students annually across more than 80 countries. The program focuses on long-term exchanges, typically lasting a full school year, where students aged 15 to 19 live with host families and attend local schools.
In Italy, more than 400 students participate each year, supported by a network of Rotary Clubs, districts, and volunteers. The initiative aims to foster autonomy, linguistic skills, and adaptability by requiring participants to integrate into new social and educational systems rather than engaging in traditional tourism.
Rotary Clubs and districts provide logistical support and guidance throughout the preparation and duration of the stay, ensuring students have a point of reference while navigating new environments and customs.
