Rotenburg District Fire Brigade Association holds annual assembly

The Rotenburg (Wümme) District Fire Brigade Association held its delegates' assembly in Sottrum, bringing together approximately 160 delegates and guests. Under the motto “Fire Brigade – Strong through Cohesion!”, the meeting reviewed the past year, discussed current developments, and honored deserving members with honorary medals.

Association Chairman Jürgen Runge emphasized that the strength of the fire brigade lies in its community and the extensive responsibilities held by various functionaries beyond regular service. He noted that cohesion will become increasingly vital as the organization faces the challenge of managing similar or increased workloads with potentially fewer personnel in the future.

Membership data shows a solid foundation, with 3,727 members across various departments as of late 2025. Notably, the children's fire brigades saw significant growth, increasing from 124 to 195 members. The total membership includes 331 youth members, 2,379 active members, and 822 members of the senior and honorary departments.
