Rotterdam community center Het Nieuwe Spoor officially opens
Pameijer and Woonstad Rotterdam have officially opened the Het Nieuwe Spoor activity and meeting center at the Jan van der Ploeghuis on Hooglandstraat in Rotterdam. The opening marks a renewed collaboration between the two organizations to foster social inclusion and community engagement.
The Jan van der Ploeghuis is a residential building containing 79 apartments for individuals aged 55 and older. Through this expanded partnership, the number of apartments dedicated to Pameijer clients will increase from eight to approximately sixteen. Additionally, support teams have established an office within the building to provide localized assistance.
Located on the ground floor, the Het Nieuwe Spoor center is designed to be accessible to all, including residents of the Jan van der Ploeghuis, Pameijer clients, and local neighborhood residents. The center provides a space for social interaction, food, and community activities. Het Nieuwe Spoor has operated in the Oude Noorden district for approximately twenty years and recently relocated to this new site.
