Rotterdam hosts Wereldhavendagen and celebrates VRR 20th anniversary

The Wereldhavendagen (World Port Days) event in Rotterdam recently featured the 20th anniversary of the Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam-Rijnmond (VRR). During the celebrations at Willemsplein, Director Arjen Littooij reflected on two decades of the organization, which coordinates fire services, ambulance care, and crisis management for approximately 1.3 million residents.

Safety operations during the maritime festival were supported by personnel such as senior lifeguard Pieter Louw from the Reddingsbrigade Dordrecht. Lifeguards provided first aid and monitored the crowded quays, including the Parkkade and Wilhelminakade, to ensure the safety of visitors attending demonstrations and viewing large vessels from the Royal Netherlands Navy and Defense.
