Rotterdam municipality denies journalist access to wind farm tour

The Municipality of Rotterdam denied a journalist from the news website Hoogvliet Online access to an organized excursion to the Streepland wind farm near Lage Zwaluwe. While approximately fifteen residents were permitted to join the tour via coach to learn about the operation, noise production, and environmental impact of the 210-meter-high turbines, the journalist was barred from participating.

The municipality stated that the journalist's registration email had ended up in a spam folder and added that they wished to keep the focus of the visit on the residents. This decision prevents Hoogvliet Online from providing independent reporting on the expert explanations and noise measurements provided during the trip, leaving the outlet to rely on official feedback from the municipality.
