Rotterdam police seize puppy following reports of animal abuse
Police in Rotterdam have seized a puppy following reports of animal abuse. A witness reported that the owner had dropped the animal from a medium height and kicked it several times.
Officers responded to a cafe in the Delfshaven area late Sunday night after finding the puppy with a patron on a terrace. The owner was present but was reportedly intoxicated and behaving inappropriately. While no obvious physical injuries were visible on the puppy, it was found to be extremely hungry.
Following consultation with the public prosecutor, the puppy, referred to as ‘Bodie’, was legally seized due to suspected animal cruelty and neglect. The animal has been placed in a safe shelter for veterinary examination and care, while the owner remains under investigation.
