Rotterdam to improve traffic safety in Lombardijen
The municipality of Rotterdam intends to implement short-term measures to improve traffic safety around Pascalweg and Bergambachtstraat in the Lombardijen district. Following a traffic study conducted by Goudappel, Alderman Chantal Zeegers announced that ‘quick wins’ from the research will be included in the upcoming implementation schedule.
The Lombardijen district council supports ‘package A’ of the proposed measures, which represents the most desired scenario. The municipality is currently evaluating the feasibility, costs, and planning of this package, while also considering its integration with other local developments, such as the Stationsknoop Lombardijen project. Efforts are being made to combine these safety improvements with scheduled maintenance to increase efficiency and minimize local disruption.
