Rotterdam‑Rijnmond bans consumer fireworks exemptions for New Year celebrations

The mayors of the Veiligheidsregio Rotterdam‑Rijnmond, which includes Goeree‑Overflakkee, have decided that no exemptions will be granted for the use of consumer fireworks during the upcoming New Year period. The decision applies to the entire safety region and limits permitted fireworks to professional displays only.

The measure aims to reduce the risk of incidents and to keep police, fire and ambulance services fully available for other emergencies, ensuring a uniform approach across all municipalities in the region.
