Rottweil authorities process complaints over sidewalk cycling

The Rottweil regulatory office (Ordnungsamt) is processing complaints regarding cyclists and e-scooter riders using sidewalks. While the office acts as a processing authority for reports and a fine agency, it does not have the power to stop moving traffic.

Direct monitoring of flowing traffic remains the exclusive responsibility of the police, who are the only ones authorized to stop individuals and verify their identities. The city noted that without the identification of the person involved, penalizing such violations is generally not possible. The administration advises citizens not to put themselves in danger to monitor traffic and emphasizes that personal safety must always take priority.
