Rot‑Weiss Essen launches 2026/27 season with fan‑filled training kickoff

Rot‑Weiss Essen has begun preparations for the 2026/27 Regionalliga season. On Thursday 25 June and Friday 26 June the squad underwent mandatory performance diagnostics and medical examinations, marking the internal start of the campaign. The club will host a public training session on Saturday, with the fan and supporter department (FFA) opening the event at Willi‑Lippens‑Platz on Hafenstraße at 11 a.m. The programme includes music, children’s activities and player interviews, aiming to create a festival atmosphere. Around 1 500 season tickets have already been sold, and the club expects a large turnout similar to last year, when the same event attracted roughly 1 500 supporters. Test matches and a training camp in Bad Griesbach are scheduled to follow the opening ceremony.
