Rouen: Two teenagers arrested after police chase on stolen scooter

Two 15-year-old adolescents were apprehended in Rouen following a police chase involving a stolen electric scooter. The incident occurred in the early hours of August 16 near Quai Cavelier-de-la-Salle.

After police attempted to intercept the orange Veloflow scooter, which had been reported stolen on August 10, the driver fled through several streets, traveling against traffic. The pursuit ended on Rue Malherbe when the scooter crashed during a turn. Both teenagers sustained minor injuries from the fall.

Investigations revealed that the driver was already wanted in connection with a burglary and was subject to an administrative obligation to leave French territory (OQTF). Both individuals were detained for the possession of stolen property, and the driver faces additional charges for refusing to comply with police orders.
