Roulette King's Flemington return depends on weather

Trainer Trevor Rogers is monitoring weather conditions at Flemington to determine if his galloper, Roulette King, will compete in the Listed Paris Lane Stakes (1400m) this Saturday. Currently listed as the first emergency for the race, the horse's participation depends on upcoming rainfall. While the track was rated a Good 3 on Wednesday, forecasts predict significant rain between 3mm and 30mm through Saturday.

Roulette King, who has won four of his five starts, is being prepared for the $10 million Group 1 Golden Eagle at Randwick on October 31. Rogers has intentionally avoided major races like the Caulfield Cup and Cox Plate this year to allow the four-year-old gelding to mature. This Saturday's race serves as a test of the horse's turn of foot at a shorter distance before the primary campaign objective.
