Rourkela police arrest seven for using government circuit house as hideout
Police in Rourkela, Odisha, have arrested seven individuals, including two primary suspects, for using the government-owned Panposh Circuit House as a hideout for over 20 days. The arrests followed a tip-off after the suspects allegedly uploaded social media videos threatening rivals.
During a raid on the state-managed guesthouse, officers recovered two illegal firearms and live ammunition. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of five accomplices and the recovery of two additional firearms. Authorities stated that the suspects gained access to the facility through a local influential person.
Investigators are currently examining the role of the private agency responsible for managing the recently renovated facility to determine how the suspects secured entry. The Circuit House is under the administrative authority of the Panposh sub-collector.
