Rovaniemi police investigate bottle bomb and moped disturbances
Police in Lapland dealt with several disturbances caused by youths over the weekend. In Rovaniemi, a homemade bottle bomb, constructed using substances such as drain cleaner, was thrown at a residence and exploded near a vehicle. There is a risk that the chemicals may have damaged the paintwork of nearby cars.
Additionally, two dark-colored mopeds without lights were driven on a pedestrian street in Rovaniemi, creating danger for bystanders and attempting to provoke police into a chase. In Korkalovaara, police encountered dozens of youths gathered at a schoolyard. One individual on a scooter without a license plate engaged in reckless driving and repeatedly provoked officers. Police have identified one individual and are continuing their investigations.
