Rover Fire brush fire near Acton causes evacuation warnings

A vehicle fire on the northbound 14 Freeway near Escondido Canyon Road near Acton escalated into a second-alarm brush fire known as the Rover Fire on Friday afternoon. The blaze spread to vegetation in both the center divider and the right side of the freeway.

Emergency responders successfully stopped the forward progress of the fire, leading to the incident being downgraded from a second-alarm to a first-alarm response. While evacuation warnings were initially issued for certain zones, they were subsequently downgraded to advisories. Residents were advised to remain alert and keep windows and doors closed due to smoke.
