Roxette cancels 40th anniversary North American tour

Swedish pop duo Roxette announced the postponement of its 40th‑anniversary North American tour after Live Nation US cited logistical difficulties and a sharp rise in touring costs. Founder Per Gessle wrote that the band and vocalist Lena Philipsson were “naturally disappointed” and that the United States remains the group’s largest streaming market. Ticket holders in the United States and Canada were notified of refunds, and the tour’s 14 scheduled amphitheatre dates – including stops in Michigan, Toronto, Philadelphia, Dallas, Houston and Los Angeles – were removed from sale. The tour was to feature supporting acts Taylor Dayne and Nick Lowe. The cancellation follows the recent milestone of Roxette’s 1990 hit “It Must Have Been Love” reaching one billion YouTube views, underscoring the band’s enduring global popularity despite the setback.
