Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa Transferred to Jakarta Detention Center Ahead of Court Hand‑over

Roy Suryo and Dr. Tifa (Tifauzia Tyassuma) were arrested by Polda Metro Jaya on 19 June 2026 on charges of alleged defamation and spreading false information about President Joko Widodo’s diploma. After initial health examinations they were admitted to the Police Hospital (RS Polri) Kramat Jati in East Jakarta.

On the night of 21 June 2026 the two suspects were moved from the hospital to the Polda Metro Jaya detention house (Rutan). Police spokesperson Kombes Budi Hermanto said, "Update terakhir tersangka Tifauzia Tyassuma dan Roy Suryo akan dibawa dari RS Kramat Jati malam ini dan diinapkan di Rutan Polda Metro Jaya." Their transfer is a prerequisite for the second‑stage hand‑over to the South Jakarta Prosecutor’s Office, scheduled for 22 June 2026 at 09:00 WIB.

Lawyer Refly Harun reported that the detainees’ health conditions remained below 50 percent, requiring continued medical monitoring. Attorney Hotman Paris urged that they receive house arrest instead of prison, citing the nation’s “need for wisdom and prudence.” Kapolri Listyo Sigit Prabowo confirmed the procedure follows standard investigative steps before the case is submitted to the prosecutor.
