Roy Suryo's Compensation Pretrial Rejected Again, Fourth Hearing Delayed
Former presidential aide Roy Suryo has filed several pretrial (praperadilan) lawsuits seeking compensation of Rp206 million for his arrest, detention and alleged defamation related to a claim that President Joko Widodo holds a fake diploma. The Jakarta South District Court, presided over by Judge I Ketut Darpawan, declared his third pretrial inadmissible, citing a formal defect because the Ministry of Finance, which is authorized to pay compensation, was not named as a party.
Lawyer Refly Harun said the claim will be refiled with the Ministry of Finance added as a respondent. The fourth pretrial, focusing on the police restriction placed on Suryo, was postponed after the High Prosecutor's Office failed to appear, and the court set a new date for 14 August. The series of filings highlights procedural hurdles in Suryo's attempts to obtain redress.
These developments have been reported across four separate articles, all detailing the court's rulings, the legal arguments, and the next scheduled hearing.
