Royal Air Maroc expands fleet to 69 aircraft with new Boeing 737 MAX 8

Royal Air Maroc has expanded its fleet to 69 aircraft following the delivery of a new Boeing 737 MAX 8. This addition brings the airline's total number of single-aisle Boeing aircraft to 45, strengthening its medium-haul capabilities.

The delivery arrives as Boeing continues to manage industrial constraints, supply chain tensions, and certification delays for various 737 MAX models. Royal Air Maroc has proactively worked to secure its schedule, successfully negotiating the advancement of two aircraft deliveries from 2026 to 2025.

This expansion is part of a strategic development plan established in 2023 between the airline and the Moroccan state. The goal is to quadruple the fleet to 200 aircraft by 2037, positioning Casablanca as a major global aviation hub connecting Africa, Europe, the Americas, and Asia. To support this growth, the airline aims to integrate an average of 10 to 15 new aircraft per year and has initiated a tender process for up to 200 new planes, inviting manufacturers such as Boeing, Airbus, Embraer, and ATR to participate.
