Royal Antwerp FC restructures technical department after Overmars departure

Royal Antwerp FC has begun restructuring its technical department following the departure of technical director Marc Overmars, who resigned in September for health reasons. Rather than seeking a single direct replacement, the club is distributing his responsibilities across several roles.

Chief scout Joachim Vercaigne will take over scouting and recruitment duties. Additionally, Peter Catteeuw, formerly head of the medical staff, will take on an expanded role involving transfer decisions and budget management. CEO Sven Jaecques is currently filling the role of Head of Football until a permanent candidate is found. While Toby Alderweireld has been mentioned as a potential future option, Jaecques stated he is not currently ready for the position.
