Royal Antwerp FC sees player return and management change

Royal Antwerp FC is undergoing significant personnel changes. Midfielder Arthur Vermeeren has returned to the club on a one-season loan from RB Leipzig. Vermeeren, seeking more playing time after stints at Atlético Madrid, RB Leipzig, and Olympique Marseille, reportedly considered a move to Lille before deciding to return to the familiar environment of Antwerp where he originally broke through.

In club management, Marc Overmars has stepped down from his role at Royal Antwerp FC due to health issues. Toby Alderweireld, who is currently a shareholder at the club, commented on Overmars' departure, praising his impact and scouting expertise. While Alderweireld stated he does not feel ready to replace Overmars immediately, he expressed interest in pursuing such a role in the future.
