Royal British Legion launches annual Poppy Appeal

The Royal British Legion is launching its annual Poppy Appeal through various commemorative and fundraising activities in different regions.

In La Cala de Mijas, Spain, the Royal British Legion Spain South will hold a series of events on October 17. The schedule includes an afternoon parade featuring veterans, scout groups, and a marching band, followed by a commemoration service near the local watchtower. An evening launch party will be held at the Oasis Centre, featuring live musical entertainment to support the cause.

In Stratford, the appeal will run from October 22 to November 7. Volunteers will collect donations in shops, markets, and streets to support veterans and their families. Local businesses and organizations, including the Stratford Rotary Club and various guide and cadet groups, will participate in the fundraising efforts. Last year, the appeal raised over £55,000 in the Stratford area.
