Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal continues community support
The Royal British Legion is conducting its annual Poppy Appeal to provide lifelong support for serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The charity, which was established in 1921, focuses on welfare services, including care homes and support for those affected by conflicts since 1945.
In Horsforth, the 2026 appeal launch highlighted local contributions, noting that the town raised £27,800 last year. Meanwhile, the Fleet, Crookham & District Branch reported raising a record £104,000 for the appeal. These funds assist the organization in its mission to provide vital care, such as dementia support and assistance for wounded service personnel through initiatives like the Battle Back Centre.
