Royal Canadian Legion honors Korean War veteran William Ager
William James (Jim) Earnest Ager, a veteran of the Korean War, was honored with a military tribute following his passing. To ensure a ceremonious send-off, his longtime friend Charlene Pacholuk coordinated with the Royal Canadian Legion.
Ian Williams, former president of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 228, arranged for a full colour guard to attend an intimate backyard service. The tribute included the playing of the Last Post. Williams also offered a place for Ager’s ashes, noting that the ship Ager served on, HMCS Souix, was decommissioned and dismantled over 50 years ago.
