Royal Caribbean advances Hero of the Seas debut to August 2027
Royal Caribbean International has moved the debut of its newest Icon class vessel, Hero of the Seas, forward by ten days. The ship is now scheduled to welcome its first paying passengers on 1st August 2027, rather than the previously announced date of 11th August.
The updated schedule includes a 7-night Western Caribbean cruise departing on 1st August 2027, followed by a 3-night getaway to Perfect Day CocoCay on 8th August 2027. Passengers with existing reservations for the original August 11th sailing have been notified and offered priority access to transfer their bookings, with change fees waived through 14th October 2026.
Hero of the Seas will feature The SpongeBob Musical as its headline theatre production. As the fourth vessel in the Icon class, the ship will include amenities such as the largest waterpark at sea, 28 dining locations, and the Crown’s Edge zipline. The vessel was recently tested at the Meyer Turku Shipyard in Finland.
