Royal Caribbean's Legend of the Seas completes inaugural run at Italy's Civitavecchia

Royal Caribbean’s newest cruise ship, Legend of the Seas, entered service in July 2026 as the third vessel of the Icon class. Measuring 365 m in length, with a gross tonnage of about 250,800 and a passenger capacity of roughly 7,600, it is one of the world’s largest cruise ships.

The ship concluded its inaugural cruise at the port of Civitavecchia, Italy, handling more than 9,500 passengers in under 48 hours. About 3,500 passengers disembarked on the first day, and around 6,000 embarked the next day before the vessel set sail for Fort Lauderdale, Florida, to begin its Caribbean itineraries. Local transport operator Portlink provided continuous bus service between the terminal and the railway station to manage the record flow of travelers.
