Royal consent required for Mohd Shuhaily's PDRM reassignment

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) has not yet determined the new assignment for Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain following the decision to end his tenure as Director General of the Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS).

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail stated that because Mohd Shuhaily was appointed to the AKPS position by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, any shortening of his term requires royal consent. The PDRM is currently awaiting advice from the Attorney General's Chambers regarding the formal process of submitting a letter to the King.

While the Ministry of Home Affairs has confirmed the decision to return Mohd Shuhaily to the police force, his specific role remains undecided. Inspector-General Khalid noted that any subsequent actions must comply with the regulations set by the Public Services Commission (SPA) and the Police Force Commission (SPP).
