Royal Crow announces cosmic horror shooter Waste The Fallen
South Korean developer Royal Crow has announced Waste The Fallen, a free-to-play Lovecraftian extraction first-person shooter for PC. Developed using Unreal Engine 5, the game features a cosmic horror setting where players act as Deviants scavenging a ruined underworld known as the Deep.
Players can engage in solo or three-person squad gameplay, navigating environments filled with grotesque monsters called the Fallen and rival scavengers. The game introduces a Sanity system to manage mental health and a Bio-Arm mechanic that allows players to unlock new abilities using extracted resources. To differentiate itself from other extraction shooters, the title aims to be more forgiving by utilizing a safebox to protect loot upon death and offering affordable crafting options.
Royal Crow is a Tencent-backed studio led by Baek Seung-hoon, who previously worked on Sudden Attack. A closed alpha test for North American players is scheduled to take place from September 4 to September 8, with registration currently available on Steam.
