Royal Hicacos hotel celebrates 24 years in Varadero
The Royal Hicacos hotel in Varadero, Cuba, celebrated its 24th anniversary on October 19. The establishment is recognized as a prominent facility within the country’s sun and beach tourism sector.
Amaurys Echevarría Ruiz, the general secretary of the hotel's union bureau, highlighted the institution's history of professional excellence and its various accolades. These include two Presidential Decree decorations, the Lázaro Peña Order (Third and Second Grades), and the Jesús Menéndez medal. Additionally, the hotel has received the Vanguardia Nacional distinction from the Central Workers' Union of Cuba 13 times, an honor awarded for economic efficiency, social responsibility, and labor performance.
Echevarría Ruiz credited these achievements to the dedication of the workforce, both past and present, noting that employees continue to work under adverse circumstances to maintain the hotel's status as a global reference. The primary challenge moving forward is to sustain these achievements and maintain customer preference upon reopening.
