Royal Irish Academy announces new multidisciplinary committees and Tim Robinson map reissue

The Royal Irish Academy (RIA) has appointed members to its ten multidisciplinary committees—five in the sciences and five in the humanities and social sciences—as well as two standing committees on Archaeology and International Affairs for the 2026‑2030 term. Each committee can have up to twenty members selected through a competitive open call, meets three times a year, and is tasked with shaping the Academy’s research programmes, public events, outreach activities and policy engagement across the island of Ireland.

RIA Publishing House is developing new editions of Tim Robinson’s celebrated map series covering the Aran Islands, the Burren and Connemara. The project seeks public input on format options, including a waterproof version, a flat edition for framing, or retaining the original fold‑out design, as it prepares to reissue the maps that were bequeathed to the Academy.
