Royal Lodge to be re-leased following Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor's departure

The Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park is expected to be available for lease starting in October. The 30-bedroom Grade II listed mansion was previously occupied by Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, who vacated the estate in February and moved to the Sandringham estate in Norfolk.

The Crown Estate, which owns the property, is considering new tenants but will impose strict requirements. Prospective residents must pass rigorous security checks and agree to grant the royal family access to the Royal Chapel of All Saints, located on the grounds.

Financial responsibilities for the new tenant will be significant, with annual upkeep estimated at approximately £400,000. While Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor remains legally responsible for the property until his lease officially ends in October, the Crown Estate will assess the mansion's condition before selecting a new occupant.
