Royal Malaysia Police tests motorcycles for Le Tour de Langkawi duties

The Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) is conducting operational evaluations of various motorcycle models to support traffic management and security duties, specifically during the 2026 Le Tour de Langkawi (LTdL).

As part of a Proof of Concept (POC) program, JSPT is testing three Harley-Davidson models: the Low Rider ST, Street Glide, and Pan America. These motorcycles were provided by Route 77 Harley-Davidson of Kuala Lumpur to assess their performance, handling, and suitability for escort and official duties in real-world environments.

Additionally, JSPT has received five BMW Motorrad R 1300 RT motorcycles donated by Auto Bavaria Motorrad. These units will be utilized for rider escorts, traffic control, patrols, and route management throughout the international cycling race. The initiative highlights cooperation between the police, government agencies, and the private sector to ensure road safety during major sporting events.
