Royal Run 2027 host cities announced for Denmark

Organizers of the Royal Run have announced the host cities for the 2027 event, scheduled for Monday, May 17, 2027. The ninth edition of the royal fitness festival will feature four new host cities alongside one returning location.

The designated host cities are Silkeborg, Thisted, Vordingborg, Haderslev, and the Copenhagen/Frederiksberg area. Total participant capacity is set at 102,500 people, with Copenhagen/Frederiksberg accounting for 50,000 spots, Silkeborg for 17,500, Haderslev for 15,000, and Thisted and Vordingborg each hosting 10,000.

Registration for the event opens on September 30 at 10:00. Participants can choose from distances of one mile, 5 km, or 10 km, with no time limits imposed on completion. Morten Mølholm Hansen, CEO of the Danish Sports Confederation, noted that the inclusion of new cities fosters significant local engagement and community spirit.
