Royal Shakespeare Company supports Oxfordshire theme park
The Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) has expressed support for a proposed €700 million theme park in Oxfordshire, England. The project is being developed by the French company Puy du Fou, which specializes in historical themes.
Located north of Bicester, the park is intended to focus on world literature rather than traditional cinematic blockbusters. The RSC described the development as a ‘exciting opportunity to further improve the culture and tourism offering of Great Britain’.
Unlike traditional amusement parks, the site is expected to feature historical villages and live shows rather than large rides or carousels. Puy du Fou plans to begin a phased opening of the park in 2029, a move projected to create approximately 2,000 jobs.
