Reports indicate that WWE management views Royce Keys as a potential future world champion following his recent transition to a heel role. After spending much of the year as a babyface on SmackDown, Keys underwent a major character pivot.

Following a period off television after an attack by Jacob Fatu, Keys returned alongside the NXT duo OTM to attack The Usos, Solo Sikoa, and LA Knight. His recent actions, including setting a vehicle belonging to The Bloodline on fire, have established him as a prominent antagonist.

Industry reports suggest that WWE decision-makers are impressed with Keys' ability to transition into a main event role. There are also indications that his new stable may be integrated into upcoming WarGames storylines.
