Rozalén awarded Don Quijote 2026 Prize for mental health advocacy

The Federación Salud Mental Castilla-La Mancha has awarded the 2026 Don Quijote Award to singer-songwriter Rozalén. The distinction recognizes her sensitivity and long-standing commitment to mental health advocacy through her music.

The award ceremony is scheduled for October 7 in Caudete, Albacete, as part of the institutional event commemorating World Mental Health Day. Rozalén’s candidacy was proposed by Salud Mental Caudete ACAFEM, an entity that has maintained a connection with the artist since the beginning of her musical career.

Since its creation in 2003, the Don Quijote Award has honored individuals, entities, and media outlets that promote the social inclusion of people with mental health challenges. Mª Carmen Navarro, president of the Federation, noted that the artist represents the values of the award by using her music to address vulnerability, emotions, and the necessity of care with naturalness and coherence.
