Rozzano school incident leaves 12-year-old student hospitalized

A 12-year-old student was hospitalized following an incident during an art class at the Monte Amiata Institute in Rozzano, near Milan. While initial reports suggested a violent assault where a student was choked until losing consciousness, the school administration and local authorities have clarified that the event was a “joke between classmates” that went wrong.

According to the school's reconstruction, one student grabbed another from behind at the neck while the latter was leaning over to pick up a fallen object. This sudden movement caused the student to lose his balance and strike his head on the floor. Although the student was transported to San Paolo Hospital in Milan under a yellow code for precautionary checks, officials stated he remained conscious and is in good condition.

Teachers provided immediate first aid, and the Carabinieri have been called to investigate the circumstances. The school is also reviewing disciplinary and educational measures, noting that the student responsible for the gesture had reportedly faced a suspension for a similar incident during the previous school year.
