RPI hockey teams face losses against Princeton and RIT

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) suffered defeats in both men's and women's hockey matchups.

The RPI men's hockey team lost 4-1 to visiting RIT. RIT's Matthew Wilde opened the scoring in the first period following a turnover, but RPI responded with a goal from Rainers Rullers early in the second. RPI secured the win with three unanswered goals in the third period, including an empty-net goal by Ian Scherzer.

In women's hockey, No. 7 Princeton defeated RPI 4-0. Despite RPI generating 20 shots on goal and winning the faceoff battle 29-20, Princeton capitalized on two power-play opportunities with goals from Riley Sorokan and Caroline Averill. Gabby Kim and Ani Kozak added goals to extend the Tigers' lead. RPI goaltender Reese Keating recorded 16 saves in the contest.
