RS Italia invests €20 million in automated logistics hub in Milan

RS Italia has announced a €20 million investment in a new, highly automated distribution center located in Pozzuolo Martesana, near Milan. The facility, developed with support from Prologis and featuring robotic solutions from Exotec, is designed to serve as a continental pilot project for the multinational group’s new logistics approach.

The 10,000-square-meter hub will gradually replace the company’s existing structure in Modrone/Vimodrone. By utilizing high-density automated storage and 58 mobile robots capable of vertical movement up to 12 meters, the center aims to more than double the company’s local operational capacity.

The project integrates advanced robotics, a new Warehouse Management System, and digitalized processes to improve order accuracy, increase speed, and reduce transport costs. The facility has also earned LEED Gold certification and is strategically positioned near the A35 and A58 motorways to optimize regional distribution. The center is expected to become progressively operational by 2027.
