RSCM Kencana performs successful remote gynecological tele-robotic surgery
RSCM Kencana has successfully performed a remote gynecological operation using tele-robotic surgery technology. The procedure was conducted from an operating room in Jakarta and broadcast live to participants of international medical conferences in Bali, covering a distance of more than 1,000 kilometers.
The surgery was showcased during the APAGE 26th Annual Meeting and the IGES 13th Annual Meeting held at the Jimbaran Convention Center. This milestone is part of RSCM’s ongoing transformation to expand high-tech surgical options, including minimally invasive and robotic surgery, for the Indonesian public.
This development follows a previous success in 2024, when RSCM’s Urology Department performed its first tele-robotic surgery. The integration of robotic systems, artificial intelligence, and telemedicine is intended to foster clinical knowledge exchange and demonstrate the capabilities of Indonesian medical professionals in utilizing advanced surgical technologies.
